Audi have confirmed a significant new hire to head up a crucial part of its F1 operation.

Audi has confirmed that Thomas Fuhr will become the new CEO of Audi Formula Racing GmbH starting November 1. In this role, Fuhr will lead the division responsible for developing and manufacturing the team's Formula 1 power units. He previously served as managing director of Mercedes-AMG High Performance Powertrains from 2009 to 2012.
The leadership appointment allows chief technology officer Stefan Dreyer to concentrate entirely on technical development, while Christian Foyer continues as chief operating officer in Neuburg. Audi team principal Mattia Binotto welcomed the addition to the organization, which is competing in its first F1 season after acquiring the Sauber team.
