A clash with Pierre Gasly cost the Haas driver downforce and a penalty, but he insists aggressive moves are essential in their current package.

Ollie Bearman stated he has no regrets over an aggressive overtake attempt on Pierre Gasly at the United States Grand Prix, despite the move resulting in race-ending damage and a penalty. Following a Virtual Safety Car restart on Lap 2, Bearman collided with Alpine's Gasly at Turn 13, earning a 10-second penalty before eventually retiring on Lap 24.
Bearman explained that Haas currently lacks the pure pace to compete with midfield rivals like Alpine and Racing Bulls on merit, necessitating high-risk moves to score points. Gasly described the overtake as slightly optimistic, noting the contact cost him significant race time.
