LA28 official slogan for Olympics and Paralympics inspired by city’s roots

The LA28 organizing committee has officially unveiled "Stars align" as the slogan for the 2028 Olympic and Paralympic Games. Announced on Wednesday, the motto pays homage to the 1984 Los Angeles Games' "stars in motion" emblem, the 50 stars of the American flag, and Hollywood's cultural history. LA28 chief marketing officer Alex Merchán explained that the phrase represents the intersection of preparation and opportunity for athletes, organizers, and fans.

The slogan developed over several years and will guide marketing and event efforts leading up to the opening ceremony on July 14, 2028. LA28 has already sold more than 6 million Olympic tickets, with first-come, first-served public ticket sales scheduled to open next year. Tickets for the Paralympic Games will go on sale in 2027, followed by an all-50-state torch relay beginning in spring 2028.
