Former Hibernian forward Tam McManus has praised Rangers defender Olwethu Makhanya, suggesting the club could name their price for the South African next summer. McManus described the 22-year-old center-back as a Rolls Royce and claimed he is the best defender in Scottish football following his performance against Hearts.
Makhanya joined Rangers from MLS side Philadelphia Union and holds a contract running until 2030, giving the club leverage in any transfer talks. The defender has helped Rangers concede only nine goals in their first 11 Scottish Premiership matches as they compete with Celtic for the title.
