Former Celtic winger Liel Abada scored an 18-minute hat-trick off the bench to secure Charlotte FC a 4-0 win over CF Montreal and clinch an MLS play-off spot. Coming on as a substitute for Rodolfo Aloko with 25 minutes left, Abada recorded the fastest hat-trick in Charlotte FC history and the third-fastest in MLS history.
The treble marked the second hat-trick of Abada's professional career and brought his tally to eight goals for the season under manager Dean Smith. Abada, who originally moved to the MLS side from Celtic for around £8 million, joins Robbie Keane and Giorgos Giakoumakis as players to have scored hat-tricks for both Celtic and an MLS club.
