San Jose Sharks forward Filip Bystedt is set to make his NHL debut against the Vancouver Canucks on Thursday night. The 22-year-old was recalled from the AHL alongside defenseman Libor Hajek on Wednesday morning, marking his first opportunity at the NHL level four years after being drafted.
Bystedt was the first draft pick made by general manager Mike Grier. Although fellow draft picks made their debuts earlier, Bystedt expressed joy over the call-up, which John McCarthy delivered to him, with his parents expected to attend his debut.
