The Blackhawks were looking for their second win in a row, but it was not to be. They fell 4-1 to the Red Wings is what seemed like a very dispassionate effort.

The Chicago Blackhawks suffered a 4-1 defeat to the Detroit Red Wings on Thursday, dropping their record to 4-9-0 on the season. Connor Bedard opened the scoring for Chicago in the first period, but Detroit responded with four unanswered goals, powered by a Viktor Arvidsson hat trick and a power-play marker from Lucas Raymond.
Blackhawk Up writer Gail Kauchak described the performance as an embarrassing and listless outing, questioning whether head coach Jeff Blashill faces major changes following postgame remarks. Goaltender Spencer Knight stopped 27 of 30 shots in the loss as Chicago remained winless on the road.
