The San Jose Sharks continued their current homestand on Thursday night when they hosted the 32nd placed Vancouver Canucks. Unfortunately for the Sharks, they were massively outcoached by rookie bench boss Manny Malhotra for the majority of the night.

The San Jose Sharks mounted a rapid third-period comeback to secure a 3-2 victory over the Vancouver Canucks on Thursday night. After trailing 2-0 following goals from Vancouver's Drew O'Connor and Liam Ohgren, the Sharks rallied late in the final frame behind two goals from Will Smith and a game-winner from Mason Marchment scored just 11 seconds later.
Despite the victory, William Espy writes that San Jose was outcoached and outplayed by rookie head coach Manny Malhotra's squad for the first 50 minutes. Goaltender Leevi Merilainen kept the Canucks in control before San Jose broke through, ultimately holding off a late 6-on-4 power play to seal the win.
