The Arizona Diamondbacks are expected to explore trade offers for second baseman Ketel Marte this offseason. Reports from Arizona Sports and The Arizona Republic indicate the club has already received preliminary interest from rival teams. General manager Mike Hazen suggested the front office is looking to reshape the roster after missing the postseason for a third consecutive year.
A trade could be complicated by Marte holding 10-and-5 rights that grant him full no-trade protection, alongside five years and $87.5 million remaining on his contract. Tension has grown after team owner Ken Kendrick and manager Torey Lovullo publicly criticized Marte's discipline, which included an unexcused absence prior to a game in Boston last August.
