Chicago Bulls head coach Tiago Splitter confirmed that forward Patrick Williams' sizeable contract does not influence playing time decisions. Despite earning $18 million annually through the 2028-29 season, Williams remains out of the regular rotation behind starters Caleb Wilson and Matas Buzelis, as well as several bench players.

Splitter stated that executive vice president of basketball operations Bryson Graham has never pressured him to play Williams based on his deal. The competition in Chicago's frontcourt is expected to increase further once center Nic Claxton returns from a hamstring injury.
