The Blackhawks aren't on Dylan Larkin's preferred trade list, but Patrick Kane could give Chicago an unexpected advantage in pursuing the former Red Wings captain.

Ryan Gagne of Blackhawk Up argues that the Chicago Blackhawks should attempt to trade for disgruntled Detroit Red Wings center Dylan Larkin. Although Chicago is not on Larkin's reported preferred destination list, the writer suggests general manager Kyle Davidson should leverage Patrick Kane's previous successful partnership with Larkin in Detroit to pitch him on accelerating Chicago's rebuild alongside Connor Bedard.
Larkin was recently stripped of his captaincy and suspended without pay by Detroit interim general manager Shawn Horcoff after requesting a trade. Gagne believes Larkin's leadership and scoring could boost a struggling Blackhawks offense that ranks last in the NHL with 27 goals, provided Davidson can manage his $8.7 million cap hit.
