IBF heavyweight champion Filip Hrgovic has strongly criticized the decision to sanction Tyson Fury's upcoming clash with Anthony Joshua for a world title. Speaking to The Stomping Ground, Hrgovic claimed that awarding a belt for the contest is "killing the sport" and turns boxing into a circus, arguing that neither fighter's recent opposition justifies competing for a championship.

According to promoters Eddie Hearn and Frank Warren, the WBA "super" heavyweight title will be contested between Fury and Joshua on December 11 at Cardiff's Principality Stadium. However, the sanctioning body has not yet officially confirmed the status of the belt.
