The Green Bay Packers' win in Week 8 forced the Carolina Panthers to make drastic changes to their defense, which included the firing of coordinator Ejiro Evero.
The Carolina Panthers fired defensive coordinator Ejiro Evero and defensive pass game coordinator Jonathan Cooley on Friday morning. The dismissals came hours after Carolina suffered a 27-19 defeat against the Green Bay Packers on Thursday night.
Despite holding Green Bay to 66 rushing yards, Carolina's secondary allowed quarterback Jordan Love to throw for 288 yards and three touchdowns without taking a sack. Evero, who previously served as a defensive quality control coach for the Packers in 2016, had held the coordinator position in Carolina since 2023.
