  • The Packers are the second team since 1950 to record fewer than 90 rushing yards in eight straight opening games.
The Story in 60 Seconds

The Green Bay Packers defeated the Carolina Panthers 27-19 on Thursday night, but their struggling ground game set historically poor marks. Green Bay managed just 66 rushing yards on 26 carries against Carolina. Following the performance, head coach Matt LaFleur admitted he does not have much belief in the current rushing attack, stating the coaching staff must find a solution.

According to NFL research, Green Bay is only the second team since 1950 to record under 90 rushing yards in eight consecutive opening games. Despite gaining under 500 total rushing yards through eight games, the Packers became the first team in league history to maintain a winning record under those conditions.
