Norman Powell's stats through six games of the Chicago Bulls' 2026-27 NBA season clearly position him as Caleb Wilson's (hopefully short-lived) co-star.

Pippen Ain't Easy writer Morris Bankston argues that Caleb Wilson has established himself as the Chicago Bulls' primary star through his first six NBA games, while veteran addition Norman Powell has surprisingly emerged as his main co-star over Matas Buzelis and Josh Giddey. Wilson has averaged 21.2 points, 6.7 rebounds, 1.7 steals, and 1.5 blocks per game to start his professional career.
Bankston notes that Powell is averaging 20.7 points and 1.8 steals per game with a 61.2% true shooting percentage. However, the writer contends that Chicago's front office should not become complacent with the 33-year-old Powell serving as the secondary option next to the 20-year-old Wilson, urging the team to acquire players that match Wilson's developmental timeline ahead of the 2027 trade deadline.
