The Toronto Maple Leafs and Montreal Canadiens are reportedly among the teams Tampa Bay Lightning forward Nikita Kucherov would consider being traded to, according to Sportsnet's Elliotte Friedman. Kucherov reportedly submitted a 10-team trade list and is seeking to play alongside another top superstar in the NHL. Although Tampa Bay offered him a four-year extension worth $15 million annually, he reportedly turned it down and could seek over $20 million annually.

Despite the request, Lightning general manager Julien BriseBois stated that the franchise has no intention of trading the reigning Hart Trophy winner. Friedman noted that Tampa Bay hopes Kucherov will change his mind, but sources indicated that the forward rarely wavers once a decision is made.
