The departing coach is heading back to rugby union, but his latest comments has left the door open for a return to the code.

Lebanon Cedars head coach Michael Cheika has left the door open for a future return to rugby league following his team's final fixture of the 2026 Rugby League World Cup. Despite departing his role to head back to rugby union, Cheika refused to rule out coaching in the 13-man code again down the road.
The coach's comments came after Lebanon secured a chaotic 24-20 victory in their tournament finale held at CommBank Stadium.
