The Story in 60 Seconds

Italian newspaper La Gazzetta dello Sport mocked Ferrari on its front page following Andrea Kimi Antonelli's Formula 1 championship win. The 20-year-old Mercedes driver clinched his maiden world title with four races remaining by finishing third in the Mexico Grand Prix behind Red Bull's Max Verstappen and Ferrari's Lewis Hamilton. Antonelli became F1's youngest-ever champion and the first Italian title winner since Alberto Ascari in 1953.

The publication took aim at Ferrari's recent struggles, highlighting that Antonelli succeeded partly because he does not race for the Scuderia. Ferrari missed out on a potential victory in Mexico after an opening-lap squabble between teammates Hamilton and Charles Leclerc, continuing a trend of missed opportunities that has drawn criticism throughout the season.
