George Russell has issued a statement after his title defeat to Kimi Antonelli.

George Russell has released a public statement reflecting on his title defeat after Mercedes teammate Kimi Antonelli secured the Formula 1 drivers' championship in Mexico City. Russell left the circuit without addressing the media following a sixth-place finish and a 10-second penalty, which resulted in a €5,000 fine for Mercedes. Team boss Toto Wolff described the outcome as a catastrophic moment for the British driver.
Taking to Instagram nearly 24 hours later, Russell acknowledged that his season quickly unravelled after an opening victory in Australia. He congratulated Antonelli on his championship triumph, thanked Mercedes for producing a competitive car, and pledged to give his all to rediscover his peak form heading into next season.
