The Washington Capitals held practice on Monday at MedStar Capitals Iceplex ahead of hosting the Dallas Stars, providing updates on three defensemen and seeing newly acquired goaltender Remi Poirier skate for the first time. Timothy Liljegren missed practice for a maintenance day but is expected to play Tuesday, while Rasmus Sandin continued his ACL recovery in a no-contact sweater. Defender Vincent Desharnais observed from the bench as he recovers from an appendectomy.
Newly acquired goaltender Remi Poirier, traded from the New Jersey Devils on Sunday for a 2027 seventh-round pick, participated in his first session. Additionally, head coach Spencer Carbery and players Tom Wilson and Dylan Strome reacted favorably to the unveiled Hometown Remix jerseys, which the team will wear for 11 home games starting Saturday against the Florida Panthers.
