Australian all-rounder Glenn Maxwell has officially retired from international cricket, concluding a stellar career that included two ODI World Cups and one T20 World Cup title. The 38-year-old also announced his departure from first-class and List A cricket. His final appearance for Australia came against Oman in February during the 2026 T20 World Cup, following his previous retirement from ODIs in 2025.
Maxwell will continue to participate in franchise competitions, remaining available for the Melbourne Stars after signing a contract extension running through the 2027-28 BBL season. Across his international career, Maxwell featured in seven Test matches and played 130 T20Is, where he scored 2,897 runs and shares the men's record of five centuries with Rohit Sharma.
