Rockies hire Ethan Katz as pitching coach

The Colorado Rockies have officially hired Ethan Katz as their new Major League pitching coach. Katz arrives in Denver following a stint with the Houston Astros, where he served as the assistant pitching coach during the 2026 season. Prior to his time in Houston, he served five seasons as the pitching coach for the Chicago White Sox from 2021 through 2025.

Katz originally began his coaching career in 2013 and held coaching and coordinator roles across the Angels, Mariners, and Giants organizations before reaching the majors. The hiring marks a return to the Rockies organization for Katz, who was drafted by Colorado as a player in 2005 and pitched four seasons in their minor league system.
