The New York Yankees did not issue a qualifying offer to second baseman Jazz Chisholm Jr. ahead of the MLB free agency deadline. Chisholm has reached the conclusion of his contract with the club and is officially heading onto the open market as an unrestricted free agent.
While Chisholm did not receive the offer, the Yankees did extend a one-year, $23.15 million qualifying offer to closer David Bednar. Across Major League Baseball, only eight eligible free agents received qualifying offers prior to the Monday 5 p.m. deadline.
