The Red Wings aren't having luck convincing Larkin to add to his 10-team trade list, but they shouldn't stop using other teams as leverage.

NHL Trade Talk argues that the Detroit Red Wings must maintain active trade discussions with clubs outside Dylan Larkin's 10-team trade list to maximize leverage. Interim general manager Shawn Horcoff recently asked Larkin’s agent, Pat Brisson, to expand the approved list after failing to find an acceptable deal among the designated teams. Brisson rejected the request, leaving the standoff unresolved.
According to TSN's Pierre LeBrun, between six and eight unapproved teams—including Montreal, Boston, Buffalo, and Los Angeles—have contacted Detroit, with Buffalo reportedly offering a significant package. NHL Trade Talk notes that Larkin has been suspended without pay since October 29, suggesting mounting financial losses could eventually pressure the forward into expanding his approved destinations.
