Matas Buzelis may never become what Chicago Bulls fans hoped he would be. But that's OK.

Writer Andrew Hanlon argues that Chicago Bulls forward Matas Buzelis may top out as a complementary piece rather than the franchise-saving superstar supporters anticipated. Through the early weeks of his third season, Buzelis experienced a dip in production, averaging 13.0 points and 4.3 rebounds on 40.0 percent shooting before a November 4 matchup with the New York Knicks.
Hanlon notes that rookie Caleb Wilson has emerged as Chicago's primary cornerstone, pushing Buzelis into a supporting role. While acknowledging Buzelis made significant progress in his second NBA season by averaging 16.3 points and 1.5 blocks, Hanlon suggests the forward's optimal future is serving as a secondary option alongside Wilson.
