Manchester United manager Michael Carrick has decided to name Bruno Fernandes on the bench against Bournemouth, according to The Athletic. The move follows the captain's public criticism of tactical decisions after United suffered a 4-1 Champions League defeat against Como. The club currently sits in 15th place in the Premier League table.
Carrick played down talk of internal division during his Friday press conference, insisting he will always do what is best for the team. He declined to reveal whether Fernandes will retain the captaincy, stating that now is not the time to go into detail about private discussions.
