The New York Giants are not interested in acquiring short-term rental players ahead of the trade deadline, head coach John Harbaugh confirmed. Despite injuries to Jaxson Dart and Brian Burns, the 4-2-1 Giants remain atop the NFC East and are targeting players under contract beyond 2026. Harbaugh noted a preference to trade 2028 draft capital rather than near-term selections if any additions are finalized.
Potential targets include Indianapolis Colts running back Jonathan Taylor, who is signed through 2028. Meanwhile, general manager Joe Schoen could also explore accumulating draft picks by trading away players with reduced playing time, with Dan Duggan highlighting center John Michael Schmitz, safety Tyler Nubin, and defensive tackle Darius Alexander as potential trade candidates.
