The Story in 60 Seconds

Former India captain Ajay Jadeja remarked that pacer Arshdeep Singh got "slightly greedy" chasing a five-wicket haul during India's five-wicket ODI victory over New Zealand in Auckland. Arshdeep finished with figures of 4/70 from his 10 overs after conceding 23 runs in his final over to Blair Tickner. Despite the expensive finish, India successfully chased a revised target of 143 in 22.4 overs after New Zealand were bowled out for 185.

Jadeja highlighted that Arshdeep's overall performance remains valuable to India's bowling attack alongside Jasprit Bumrah. Arshdeep admitted post-match that he was eager to secure a fifth wicket, joining Javagal Srinath and Mohammed Shami as the only Indian fast bowlers with four-wicket ODI hauls in New Zealand. Jadeja also commended Player of the Match Anshul Kamboj for his disciplined figures of 2/22.
