Television analyst Skip Bayless criticized Victor Wembanyama's performance despite the San Antonio Spurs star recording 52 points, 24 rebounds, and eight blocks against the Dallas Mavericks. Speaking on First Take, Bayless rated the historic outing a six out of ten, arguing that Dallas lacked the interior size to challenge him and pointing out that San Antonio was outscored 60-44 in the second half.
Bayless highlighted Wembanyama's 1-for-8 three-point shooting and missed late free throws as significant concerns for San Antonio's offensive efficiency. After the game, Wembanyama acknowledged that his outside shots were not falling and revealed he had been playing through illness, while teammate Dylan Harper praised his dominant mindset.
