Former EFL defender Ben Tozer has praised Sheffield Wednesday's appointment of Dave Challinor as manager, describing the 51-year-old as a "winner" who knows what it takes to succeed. Challinor takes charge of the Owls following the dismissal of Henrik Pedersen, who was sacked after consecutive defeats against teams near the bottom of the table.
Challinor's tenure begins with cup fixtures, starting with an FA Cup match away at League Two side Oldham Athletic followed by an EFL Trophy meeting with Accrington Stanley. Speaking on the Essential EFL podcast, Tozer noted these cup fixtures offer Challinor a perfect opportunity to implement his ideas before returning to League One action.
