Washington Wizards forward AJ Dybantsa was ranked No. 5 in the latest NBA Rookie of the Year rankings compiled by NBA.com's Jeff Zilligitt. Memphis Grizzlies forward Cameron Boozer claimed the top spot in the rankings. Dybantsa began the ranking period at a slight disadvantage after being sidelined for the first four games of the season due to a sprained left ankle.
Since returning from injury on October 28, Dybantsa has scored at least 17 points in his first three appearances, averaging 16.5 points and 5.0 rebounds per game. He has established a productive role in Washington alongside teammates Anthony Davis and Trae Young.
