The Chicago Bulls made a shocking decision when they traded both Ayo Dosunmu and Coby White. It sure seems Josh Giddey was the wrong player to keep.

Maxwell Ogden of Pippen Ain't Easy argues that the Chicago Bulls made a mistake by committing to Josh Giddey as their future guard over traded players Coby White and Ayo Dosunmu. The writer contends that Giddey has struggled to find success under new head coach Tiago Splitter, failing to provide an ideal complementary fit alongside rookie primary scorer Caleb Wilson early in the 2026-27 season.
Ogden notes that while Wilson is averaging 19.1 points per game, Giddey is contributing just 9.3 points and 9.0 field goal attempts, leaving the rookie without enough offensive relief. Meanwhile, Dosunmu is averaging 16.3 points for the Minnesota Timberwolves and White remains a proven high-volume scorer with the Charlotte Hornets, both earning less annually than Giddey's three-year, $25 million per season contract.
