The Boston Celtics adjusted their starting lineup for Friday night's matchup against the Charlotte Hornets, inserting Jordan Walsh alongside Derrick White, Paul George, Jayson Tatum, and Neemias Queta. This marks the first time head coach Joe Mazzulla has deployed this specific five-man starting unit. Walsh previously started the first five games of the season before Hugo Gonzalez took over the role for the subsequent three contests.
Walsh noted that his minutes had dipped recently, failing to exceed 12 minutes since October 27, while acknowledging he needs to produce better when on the floor. Charlotte's starting lineup features Grayson Allen, Naz Reid, Brandon Miller, Colby White, and Ryan Kalkbrenner for the NBA Cup group play fixture.
