Cleveland Cavaliers fans greeted LeBron James with warm, customary cheers during his first visit to Rocket Arena as a member of the Philadelphia 76ers on Friday night. The Akron native received applause upon his introduction in the starting lineup, maintaining the positive reception he regularly experienced on past visits with the Los Angeles Lakers.
James, who played 11 seasons across two stints in Cleveland and won the 2016 NBA Finals, considered rejoining the Cavaliers before signing a two-year free-agent deal with Philadelphia. The 76ers entered the matchup with an 8-1 record alongside Joel Embiid, Tyrese Maxey, and Jaylen Brown, while Cleveland entered at 4-4.
