Indian fast bowler Mohammed Shami has announced his retirement from Test cricket 13 years after his debut, while confirming he remains available for white-ball cricket and the Indian Premier League. The pacer stated he will continue playing limited-overs formats, including for Bengal in domestic tournaments and the Lucknow Super Giants in the IPL.
Shami concluded his Test career with 229 wickets in 64 matches at an average of 27.71 after making his debut in November 2013 against the West Indies. He last featured in a Test during the 2023 World Test Championship final against Australia before fitness issues impacted his red-ball appearances.
