Newcastle eyeing Will Lankshear after stunning form at Middlesbrough

Newcastle United are reportedly monitoring Middlesbrough striker Will Lankshear ahead of a potential permanent transfer. According to The Sun, Newcastle planned to scout the 21-year-old forward against Wrexham before an injury forced him out prior to kick-off. Multiple Premier League clubs are keeping tabs on Lankshear after his rapid start to the Championship campaign.

Lankshear joined Middlesbrough permanently from Tottenham in July 2026 for an initial £10 million fee, potentially rising to £20 million. He has scored 13 goals in 13 league appearances this season. Newcastle are seeking attacking reinforcements following Alexander Isak's previous £125 million departure, though Middlesbrough's promotion ambitions could complicate any potential move.
