Los Angeles Dodgers owner Mark Walter is actively downsizing his sports empire amid federal investigations by the US Department of Justice and the SEC. Walter has already offloaded several high-profile sports properties to raise immediate capital. In August, he agreed to sell his majority stake in the Los Angeles Lakers for a record $12.5 billion, and subsequently sold his 12.7 percent stake in Chelsea FC owner BlueCo for an estimated $550 million to $630 million.
Walter is now reportedly considering offloading additional holdings, including his controlling stake in the Cadillac Formula 1 team, valued at roughly $3 billion. He is also shopping his stake in the WNBA's Los Angeles Sparks for upwards of $700 million. Despite these moves, Walter currently plans to retain ownership of both the Los Angeles Dodgers and the Professional Women's Hockey League.
