This year's 76ers team is so special that even Doc Rivers, who has a bitter ending with the franchise, cannot deny its potential.
Former Philadelphia 76ers head coach Doc Rivers praised his former team on The Bill Simmons Podcast, calling them the best team in the NBA following their strong 8-2 start to the 2026-27 season. Rivers stated that Philadelphia is built to be difficult to beat following major offseason roster additions.
The Sixer Sense writer Nicolas Kyle Pring argues that Rivers' praise carries significant weight given his contentious departure from the franchise in 2023. Pring notes that while the 76ers appear primed for a championship run, the team still needs to refine its on-court chemistry.
