Moses Itauma’s explosive offense carried him into an IBF heavyweight title fight at 21, but Filip Hrgovic exposed the costly machinery underneath it. George Groves

Filip Hrgovic defeated Moses Itauma in an IBF heavyweight title fight, stopping the 21-year-old prospect in the ninth round. Former champion George Groves analyzed the bout, labeling Itauma a "three-round fighter" due to his inability to sustain his early offensive output. Despite holding an early speed advantage, Itauma exhausted himself by pursuing a quick knockout against the durable Croatian veteran.
Groves noted that Itauma discarded distance management and threw maximum-power combinations that landed on Hrgovic's defensive guard. Additionally, Itauma's constant bouncing movement fatigued his legs, causing his posture and head movement to deteriorate. Rather than using clinches or defensive tactics to rest, Itauma continued to throw wild punches while suffering from severe exhaustion.
