Rory McIlroy just fell short to JJ Spaun on a dramatic Sunday at Wentworth.

Rory McIlroy finished as the runner-up at the BMW PGA Championship at Wentworth, finishing two strokes behind tournament winner JJ Spaun. The result marked McIlroy's fourth second-place finish at the DP World Tour flagship event over the past 12 years, extending his winless drought at the tournament since his last victory in 2014.
Despite the defeat, McIlroy expressed optimism about pursuing Patrick Reed in the Race to Dubai standings across his final three scheduled events. McIlroy also voiced surprise upon learning that Spaun had been omitted from the United States Presidents Cup team roster.
