Scotland captain Andy Robertson revealed that Tottenham Hotspur was the only club he considered joining following the expiration of his Liverpool contract. Speaking on the Stick to Football podcast, the 32-year-old left-back explained that Tottenham initially approached him in January, but he chose to see out his nine-year spell at Anfield before completing a summer move.

Robertson stated that his transfer to Tottenham on a free transfer was conditional on the club avoiding relegation from the Premier League. He credited the arrival of manager Roberto De Zerbi with giving him confidence that Spurs would remain in the top flight, motivating his decision to become part of the club's rebuilt squad.
