The permanent trade, which still awaits official league approval, marks the seventh NBA franchise of Hield's career and keeps the 33-year-old shooter in the Eastern Conference.
Hield had joined Atlanta in February 2026 alongside Jonathan Kuminga in a deal that sent Kristaps Porzingis to the Golden State Warriors. Prior to the trade to Charlotte, Hield appeared in seven games for the Hawks, finishing his regular-season tenure with a 31-point performance against Miami.
