Another one of the prospects Nick Krall and the Cincinnati Reds picked up at the 2022 trade deadline is no longer part of the organization. That makes six.
The Cincinnati Reds released minor-league shortstop Victor Acosta on Tuesday. Acosta was acquired by Reds front office executive Nick Krall from the San Diego Padres at the 2022 trade deadline in exchange for Brandon Drury.
Acosta struggled to advance past Single-A ball, appearing in over 400 minor-league games with nearly 1,500 at-bats. Prior to his release, the 22-year-old was batting .248/.339/.428 this season. He joins other 2022 acquisitions who have since left the organization, including Andrew Moore and Levi Stoudt.
