Kyle Finnegan's injury admission just made his Tigers season go from bad to worse.

The Detroit Tigers placed relief pitcher Kyle Finnegan on the 15-day injured list with groin inflammation, ending his season. Finnegan acknowledged that he had been managing physical discomfort for several months before being sidelined, attempting to pitch through the issue while downplaying his symptoms.
Finnegan struggled prior to the injury designation, posting a career-worst 1.665 WHIP and a 98 ERA+, which placed him below the league average for the first time in his career. Detroit's bullpen faced broader difficulties throughout the season, with Finnegan and Kenley Jansen noted as central figures in its struggles.
