Colts Tried Out Three Including Carl Lawson & Preston Smith

The Indianapolis Colts hosted three edge rushers for workouts on Wednesday, according to the NFL transaction wire. The players brought in for tryouts were veterans Carl Lawson, Preston Smith, and David Ojabo as the team evaluates potential defensive depth.

Smith, 33, played 13 games for the Washington Commanders in 2025 following previous tenures with the Green Bay Packers and Pittsburgh Steelers. Lawson, 31, previously played for the Cincinnati Bengals, New York Jets, and Dallas Cowboys before appearing in one game for the Baltimore Ravens in 2025.
