Robert Saleh reveals 49ers were ‘about to draft’ Giants star Cam Skattebo

Tennessee Titans head coach Robert Saleh revealed that the San Francisco 49ers were planning to draft running back Cam Skattebo before the New York Giants selected him in the fourth round. Saleh stated that 49ers head coach Kyle Shanahan was high on Skattebo, but New York chose him at pick No. 105, leading San Francisco to draft defensive lineman C.J. West at No. 113.

Skattebo has since recorded 131 carries for 527 yards and eight touchdowns through 10 games with the Giants. His offensive workload is expected to increase following a season-ending knee injury to quarterback Jaxson Dart, as Jameis Winston assumes starting duties ahead of New York's upcoming game against Saleh's Titans.
