Boston Bruins forward JJ Peterka practiced on a line alongside David Pastrnak and Elias Lindholm ahead of the upcoming regular season. The move extended an experiment from the third period of Boston's 5-1 preseason victory against the Philadelphia Flyers, when Peterka replaced Morgan Geekie on the top unit.

Boston acquired Peterka from the Utah Mammoth in June in exchange for a 2026 first-round pick and conditional draft compensation. Both Pastrnak and Peterka praised the chemistry and energy created during their initial ice time together under head coach Sturm.
