Why Mika Baur won’t feature for Germany tonight despite Celtic star’s call-up

Celtic midfielder Mika Baur will not make his senior international debut for Germany against the Netherlands on September 24. Germany manager Jurgen Klopp split his squad into two separate groups to navigate four fixtures across September and October. While Baur is omitted from the initial fixtures against the Netherlands and Greece, he remains eligible to feature in the second slate of matches.

Baur has been selected for the subsequent fixtures against Serbia on October 1 in Munich and Greece on October 4 in Thessaloniki. Klopp stated the roster split is not an A-team and B-team selection. The midfielder earned his call-up following strong performances for Celtic under manager Martin O'Neill.
