Liverpool will ‘pull the plug’ on Florian Wirtz over ‘huge misunderstanding’ for £116m star

Former Liverpool midfielder Dietmar Hamann claimed the club will eventually 'pull the plug' on Florian Wirtz, describing the record transfer as a 'huge misunderstanding'. Wirtz, who joined from Bayer Leverkusen for up to £116 million, has recorded only one assist and zero goals across seven appearances in all competitions so far this season.

Pundit Jamie Carragher also criticized the 23-year-old Germany international following a 1-0 victory over Bournemouth, calling it one of his poorest displays for the team. Wirtz has currently gone nine matches without a goal for Liverpool after scoring seven times during his debut season.
