Babar Azam set to make ILT20 debut after registering for auction

Pakistan Test captain Babar Azam is reportedly registering for the upcoming International League T20 (ILT20) player auction to make his debut in the UAE-based tournament. The fifth edition of the competition is scheduled to run between November and December 2026 across venues in Dubai, Abu Dhabi, and Sharjah, featuring six participating franchises.

Azam previously came close to joining the league in past seasons, but potential moves collapsed due to issues regarding Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) No Objection Certificates, image rights, and payment structures. His prospective entry into the ILT20 auction has also created uncertainty regarding his future participation in Australia's Big Bash League.
